HERO…
Manam andaram chala frequent ga vine padam and vade padam kuda. Ee padanaiki chala interpretations unnayi, umm let me give you an example. Ma ammamma ki hero ante family ni baga chuskone vadu, ma thathayya ki hero ante kashtalu yedurinchi vachinavadu and my thammudiki hero ante baga fightlu chesevadu. Kani, naku hero ante a normal person who faces abnormal Circumstances appudu, how the person reacts and handles the situation decides whether he is the villain or the hero of the story.
Telugu cinemalo, konni stereotypes unnayi. Especially heros ki, all the stars of the industry have to full fill these stereotypes if they are making a commercial movie. Stereotypes ante enti antara, fightlu cheyadam, heroine cheyyi patukoni jataralo janala madhyalo nunchi teesukuravatam, car lu gallo eggaratam, ivi ani heroism ane oka broad category kinda vastayi. But, today I am going to list out male characters that don't fall into this stereotype but are still loved and should be remembered just as much.
praveen from pilla jamindar
Pilla jamindar is a 2011 film, appatlo elanti character Nani cheyyatame pedda risk. It's a grey character, ante hero lu mamulga prati dantlo successful ga leda good boys ga chudatam manaki appatlo alavatu. Kani, ee cinemalo nani plays a brat. First half lo koncham heroism unna, second half kalla nani learns the value of friendship, love and sacrifice. Aasthi kosam poradi poradi last lo motham vadilesukuntade adi ‘heroism” ante. Ee cinemalo manaki nani oka manchi manishi ane factor ni introduce chesaka oka fight scene kuda unnadu. The reason we feel that nani is a hero is because he learns to empathise, he learns to be affectionate, to care and to work hard. Especially that chat he has with M.s narayana garu makes all the difference, the way he respects him and the language when he talks to him makes us realise that it's his milestone of change and growth. This film defines a hero as an individual who learns to change and realises the value of relationships.
Siddharth from bommarillu
andari favorite character, that fun loving, sweet, boy next door Siddharth. Sarigga observe cheste this film doesn’t have one cliched fight scene or any serious depiction of heroism. But, it does have conflict. Oka vidhanga cheppalante siddharth is oppressed, he hasn't made any decisions on his own and he is trying all he can to secretly stand on his own feet. yeppudu conventional cinemallo hero lu heroine ki andaga untaru kani, ikkada the heroine is the hero's only escape. She happens to be one of the only people who makes him feel comfortable in the way he is and helps him do what he really wants and not what his father wants for him. But, soon Hasini realises that the siddu she knows is different from the siddu at home. And that is a problem he needs to address with his father and he does. And in the end siddu and his family go meet Hasini‘s father for his approval. Last lo siddu staying with hasini and her father and doing the housework is all so unconventional but, we love it because that's why siddu seems like mana pakkinti oodu. (motham chaduvu lekapothe kommulu vastayi.)
Vijay from sammohanam
Vijay, a character that will always have a special place in my heart. Vijay played by Sudheer babu is a boy who loves to illustrate, entha passion ante enni dabbulu isthaananna he wants to work with authentic and local publishers for his books. The first character in telugu cinema who took and owned rejection so beautifully. He does feel bad but he doesn't hate her, he respects sameera’s decision. And this is also the first time I've seen the hero's mother and him have mature and healthy conversation about love and life. He loves sameera because of her personality, he tells her that “ andam antha pothundi, pallu udipoi, juttu raalipothundi”, vinataniki manaki asayanga anipinchana its true kada, thanu sameera andam venakala unna manishini premistadu, athani prema shallow ga undadu. And that is a handful of reasons why I love this film and aa nakshatram,Vijay.
Arjun from jersey
A story of a 36yr old failed cricketer, a story never really told. Telugu cinemalo failure gurinchi matladatam chala rare. Arjun is a man who's lost everything - his career, his love, the respect he had, his job later but the one thing he never loses is his son idolising his father as a ‘hero’. Ee cinemalo fight lu undav, its arjun fighting with himself and the stigma his age has with the sport. He is a normal guy and his abnormal circumstance is Arrhythmia ( causes irregular heartbeat ) idi telisikuda he fights for his passion and for his family to win the Ranji finals. And the only way to perfectly describe it is ‘Arjun kathha, vandalo success ayina okkadidi kadu, success avvakapoyina prayatnistu unde thombhaitomidi mandidi’.
